Mallorca Astronomical
Observatory (OAM)Founded in 1991 in Costitx, by keen and
talented amateur astrologists, its stature has increased with
the years. Its principal research objectives include comet
observation using high-resolution imaging, work on atmospheric
phenomena involving the planets Jupiter and Saturn, and
follow-up on Near-Earth-Objects. It is also credited with the
discovery of the most asteroids in Spain.
The Planetarium, which is relatively new, organises courses and events for children, students and the general public throughout the year.
